1. Who We Are
Beats Portal is operated by Verum Lux Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom.
By accessing or using Beats Portal, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Description of the Service
Beats Portal is a platform that connects:
- Producers — users who submit music via Spotify links
- Curators — users who manage playlists and review submissions
The platform facilitates submissions but does not guarantee outcomes.
3. Accounts and Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old
- You must authenticate using Spotify
- You are responsible for your account activity
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion.
4. User Roles
Producers
- Submit tracks via Spotify links
- Track submission status (pending, accepted, rejected)
Curators
- Submit and manage playlists they own
- Review and accept/reject submissions
5. Playlist Submission and Approval
Curators may submit playlists to be listed on Beats Portal.
To be eligible:
- The playlist must be owned by the submitting user
- The playlist must meet a minimum follower requirement (e.g. 50 followers)
- The playlist must be accurately categorized according to its musical style
All submitted playlists are subject to review by Beats Portal.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to:
- Approve or reject any playlist submission
- Remove or restrict playlists that do not meet platform standards
- Reclassify or adjust playlist categorization where necessary
Beats Portal may reject playlists that:
- Do not align with the platform’s focus (e.g. non-relevant genres)
- Appear inactive, low-quality, or misleading
- Do not meet minimum requirements
Approval of a playlist does not guarantee continued visibility on the platform.
6. Submission System
- Producers may submit tracks to playlists listed on the platform
- Submissions are reviewed independently by curators
- Beats Portal does not influence curator decisions
There is no guarantee that:
- A track will be reviewed
- A track will be accepted
- A track will receive streams or exposure
7. Gating Mechanism
By submitting a track, producers must:
- Confirm the track being submitted
- Explicitly accept the platform’s gating mechanism
The gating system operates as follows:
- If a curator accepts a track and adds it to their playlist, the producer automatically follows that playlist
- If a track is rejected, no action is taken and no follow occurs
This process is part of the platform’s functionality and cannot be bypassed.
8. Curator Responsibility and Playlist Management
- Curators have full discretion to accept or reject submissions
- Curators are not obligated to review any submission
By connecting their Spotify account and using the platform, curators authorize Beats Portal to interact
with their playlists via the Spotify API.
This includes:
- Adding tracks to playlists when a curator accepts a submission through the platform
Beats Portal performs these actions solely as a technical intermediary, based on the curator’s explicit actions within the platform.
Beats Portal does not independently select, curate, or evaluate music.
Playlist Control
- Curators retain full ownership and control of their playlists at all times
- Any removal or manual modification of playlist content must be performed directly through Spotify
Beats Portal does not manage or automate the removal of tracks once added.
Responsibility Disclaimer
- Curators are solely responsible for the content of their playlists
- Beats Portal is not responsible for the selection of tracks
- Beats Portal is not responsible for the presence of any content within a playlist
- Beats Portal is not responsible for any consequences arising from playlist content
- Beats Portal does not verify ownership or rights of submitted tracks
9. Playlist Visibility and Activity
We may limit or remove playlist visibility if a curator is inactive.
For example:
-
Playlists may be hidden from the platform if no meaningful activity is detected over a period of time,
including but not limited to failure to review submissions or maintain playlist updates
This does not delete the playlist but affects its visibility to producers.
10. Acceptable Use
Users agree not to:
- Submit spam or irrelevant content
- Use fake or misleading playlists
- Manipulate submission systems
- Abuse or exploit the platform
- Submit content they do not have the right to use or distribute
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts violating these rules.
We reserve the right to limit usage, submissions, or access where activity is deemed excessive,
abusive, or harmful to platform performance.
11. Quality and Integrity
To maintain the quality and fairness of the platform, users agree to the following:
- Playlists must reflect genuine audience engagement and must not use artificial methods to inflate follower counts or activity
- Users must not use bots, automation, or third-party services to manipulate playlist followers
- Users must not use bots, automation, or third-party services to manipulate track engagement
- Users must not use bots, automation, or third-party services to manipulate submission outcomes
Beats Portal reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
- Review playlist quality and engagement metrics
- Remove, restrict, or deprioritize playlists that appear inactive, artificially inflated, or low quality
- Suspend or terminate accounts involved in manipulation or abuse
We may update quality standards and eligibility criteria at any time to maintain platform integrity.
